So how has your first week back at school been? Have you maintained an attitude of being "In It To Win It"? Sometimes keeping the frame of mind that what we face and handle daily is temporary is very hard! People push us to do things that we know aren't right....we have to have the best and latest and greatest....parents annoy us and don't seem to understand.....earthquakes and hurricanes happen.....and so on.
BUT, you know what? The Bible tells us that our life is fleeting... In light of that, shouldn't we be working to what we know is eternal?
I encourage you all to spend time with the Lord everyday. You can't know someone very well if you don't spend time with them. Let Him put the annoyances and frustrations of your life into perspective. He loves you and has a plan for you that He crafted especially for you!
I am praying for you!

Are you in it to win it?
Hey girls! What a sweet week of camp! I know the Lord taught me so much during our week together! I am much more sensitive to having my eyes fixed on Him and not myself or my circumstances. I also feel a greater compassion for the lost and a desire to surrender all for Him! Praise the Lord for what He is doing in our lives as we seek to live for Him!
I wanted to share an experience I had Saturday night after camp was finished. I stayed up on the mountain to hang out, and some of the staff and I ended up going to a little mountain community about 45 minutes away to listen to some bluegrass. It was great! It was a cute little outdoor amphitheater and the band was a Christian gospel bluegrass band. They were singing and talking about the Lord, and I felt like my spirit was uplifted.
Then on the way home, Leanna had to go to the bathroom, and we were looking for a place to stop. We passed a little community center type place that had a sign for dancing. We thought it would be fun to go and check it out and so Leanna could go to the bathroom. Remember, this is out in the middle of the country. Well, they had a little band playing and maybe 12 people (mostly old) doing the twist. It was quite comical! As they wondered why 6 young adults were standing outside looking in, they invited us to come in and join them, and so we did! It was fun to do the twist with them and do a jig (or something like that) to the dixie breakdown, but something in my heart felt different about this place. As we talked about it on the way home, we concluded that it just felt empty. Much different from the gospel bluegrass festival we had just been at. My heart yearned for these precious country folk to know the Lord Jesus Christ, whom we had been talking about all week.
I was thankful to the Lord for giving me eyes for the lost and being able to recognize the emptiness that goes with living for ourselves instead of Christ. Unfortunately we didn't have a track to leave them, but it was a good reminder to be ready to share the gospel at all times or leave a track with someone to point them to Christ.
I love you girls and am praying for you often! Remember to spend time with Him daily in order to take our eyes off of ourselves and fix them on Him!

Merry Christmas, Girls!
Can you believe that it has been 6 months since Senior Girls Week at camp? How is your walk going? Are you still having a quiet time? If not, start today…..God won’t demand to know where you have been for the past 6 months. He will be happy to hear from you and will forgive and bless you during the time you spend with Him!
Christmas is such a crazy, busy time of year that it is easy to lose sight of the real meaning of the celebration. Girls, guess what? It isn’t about the new ipod, phone, clothes, or other gifts you might receive. It isn’t even about giving to others. It is all about how a Holy God in His infinite love for us, sent His son, Jesus, as a baby to Earth. God knew when He sent Jesus that the day would come that Jesus would willingly lay down His life on the cross to die for the sins of the world. That world included you and it included us.
So this Christmas when you give a gift or open a gift, please remember the greatest gift that has ever been given….Jesus! Merry Christmas Girls! Our prayer is that it will be a time for you to draw near to the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

HOW'S YOUR WALK GOING?
Senior Girls
It been a mighty long time since I sent you a update. Girls, as a friendly tip try not to get old!! That's right, I forgot my e-mail information for the blog and I finally found it this morning. Now you all understand why I desperately need Ms. Kim to help me direct senior girls week. This situation reminded me why it is so important to have others around us who can encourage us and help us stay focused on what Christ has called us to do! I was reading this morning in my quiet time in John 6: 60-69. Jesus had just finished feeding the 5000 and everybody was ready to join Jesus' team and follow Him. Jesus then makes a statement that he has come down from heaven and the multitude around Him thought, Who does He think He is? He then states that He was the Bread of Life (vs.50-51) and they really didn't understand this statement. Many of them left Jesus, and then Jesus turned to his disciples and said, "Do you want to go away?" Peter answered, "Lord , to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life(vs.68) Girls, you have to ignore what the world and others around you say about Jesus and listen only to Him and follow Him daily!! Remember our theme verse from camp Luke 9:23, " If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself daily and take up his cross and follow Me." I'm praying that you are daily following the Savior!! If you have gotten off course, come back to the Savior TODAY!!

Dear Senior Girls,
Wow! It has been a long time since my last post. Summer was jammed with all kinds of things. But know this for certain....even though I haven't posted, you girls were never far from my thoughts and always in my prayers every day!
I assume most of you are back in the school routine. I want to encourage each of you to continue to follow the way of the cross as you make choices daily. I know it takes courage and if you are anything like me, I feel like the cowardly lion in OZ. But guess what? Your Heavenly Father is the creator of the universe! Don't you think that means that he created courage as well? It's yours for the asking. Also to grow strong and stay strong you have to eat. For a christian, the most healthy diet is God's Word, the Bible. If you are feeding on it daily, it will strengthen you and the Holy Spirit will bring it to mind when you need it most!
Lastly, I want to encourage you to team up with another girl who shares your belief in Christ as a prayer partner/sister. Even if you can't get together because she is someone you met at camp, there's email, texting, phone calls and Facebook. You need a person to share your ups and downs with. Someone to encourage you, pray for you, cry with you, laugh with you, and to celebrate all the big and small stuff with. Mrs. Joy is that person for me and we do all of those things together! I truly feel like she is my sister as much as my flesh and blood sisters are.
I have to run, but let me leave you with this thought:
1 Thessalonians 5:10-11 (New International Version)
10He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. 11Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

Hi Senior Girls!
I pray that you all have had a wonderful week in the Lord! I got to see some of the Walnut Cove girls at the Yodis' Bible study last week and it was wonderful!!! I was reminded how much a miss all of you! I pray that you all are spending time in the Word each day, and taking your request and praise to the Lord each day as well. Like with any relationship, time and commitment is needed to keep that relationship strong. As I was reading through My Princess Warrior book, by Sheri Rose Shepherd, I was reminded how powerless we are without God. As it's stated, in John 15:5, "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."
My Princess Warrior
I take great joy in seeing My power worked through you.
I have given you the ability to achieve far more than you ever
could in your own strength. That is why you must rely on Me,
My beloved Warrior. When you feel yourself losing your fight,
draw closer to me. When you need to conquer any goal, let Me
be your strength. Apart from Me, you will become weak. I am
the One who can refuel you when you are running on empty.
I am your comfort when you need a break from combat. I am
your peace when it gets hard to persevere. Don't depend on your
strength, My Daughter, but on My power!
Love,
Your all-powerful King
Persevere and stay strong in the Lord!
Ms. Joy :)

All Princess Warriors
Hey Girls,
Sorry it's taken me so long to get started with the blog. My technology skills are not like Ms. Kim's or Ms. Amy's. I pray that all of you are having a wonderful summer and digging into the Word of God each day. I thought you might need some encouragement so I'm sending you some encouraging words from His Princess Warrior by Sheri Rose Shepherd.
My Princess Warrior
Faith is the only thing that will hold you together when the world around you seems to be falling apart. I want you to learn to live your life fueled by faith; there is nothing too big for me to handle for you, My Beloved. I am your God who will move a mountain if it stands in the way of My will for you. My power will be seen in your circumstance when you begin to believe I am who I say I am, and I will do as I promise. You are Mine, and I hold in My hand all you will ever need. I love you, but cannot force you to live by faith-- it is your choice. Only you can make the decision to believe and experience the mighty works I want you to see.
Love,
Your King who has faith in you
He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing is impossible for you." Matthew 17: 20-21
Girls commit your ways to the Lord and let him direct your steps! He created you and always knows what is best!!
Miss you all!!

Greetings
Hey Girls,
Wow! Our week surely flew by and was a blast (even for us old ladies). I want to encourage you to dig in to God's Word every day. It is there that you'll find your strength for the journey.
Luke 9:23 "Then he said to them all: If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." Make time for Jesus daily and He will enable you to Follow the Way of the Cross. You will be in my prayers!
A special thanks to all of our counselors, speakers, nurse and helpers who made this week a success! We could not have done it without you. Girls, all of these ladies love you enough to give you their time and they would all love to hear from you.
Because of Calvary,
Mrs. Kim
